There is currently no single “universal national standard” for hot melt adhesive granules, but ratherProduct standards+method standards+safety and environmental protection standardsThe three types of documents together constitute the basis for acceptance. What the purchaser needs to master the most is which standard corresponds to each of the four indicators of softening point, melt viscosity, peel strength, and harmful substance limit, and who issues the report. The following list can be directly posted on the wall of the procurement department.

| Serial number | Acceptance action | Key points of judgment |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Check the batch number and COA accompanying the goods | Batch number corresponds one-to-one with test report |
| 2 | Visual inspection | Uniform particles, no clumping, and no obvious discoloration |
| 3 | Packaging integrity | The inner lining is undamaged and shows no signs of moisture |
| 4 | Softening point sampling test | Deviation from TDS not exceeding ± 3 ℃ |
| 5 | Test adhesion of machine samples | The fiber failure rate meets the standard and there is no smoke from drawing |
| 6 | Sample preservation and sealing | 500g of each batch of samples should be retained and stored for three months after the batch is used up |
It is recommended that each supplier establish a folder for fixed archiving: TDS technical data sheets, MSDS safety manuals, COA quality inspection reports for each batch, third-party testing reports (RoHS/VOC), business licenses and production qualifications, annual framework agreements and price attachments. Any missing item may become a deduction item during downstream customer system audits.
Guangzhou Sunlife Trading has established a complete document package for Sunlife hot melt adhesive’s book binding, packaging and sealing, and quick printing of graphics and text. Customers can directly access it during system review or bidding without the need for temporary replenishment.
Q: What if the supplier says’ meets the national standard ‘but cannot provide a report?
Answer: “Compliant with national standards” must be assigned to specific standard numbers and testing items. No report, only verbal promises are equivalent to no basis. It is recommended to request third-party testing or directly change suppliers.
Q: Does every batch need to undergo third-party testing?
Answer: No need. The common practice is to conduct a complete third-party inspection for the first cooperation, and then check the COA of the supplier for each batch. The softening point and machine adhesion should be tested by oneself, and the third-party report should be rechecked once a year.
The selection of hot melt adhesive in packaging composite scenarios should not only be based on whether it can stick or not. The substrate combination, adhesive application method, and subsequent flow conditions determine whether the solution is suitable for the actual production line. This article provides a judgment framework that is easy for procurement and […]
Two mainstream solutions for bonding hardcover covers There are two technical routes for bonding hardcover book covers:hot melt adhesive pelletsHot melt glue and cold glue (white latex/PVA) pasting. Both options have their own strengths, and which one to choose depends on your product positioning, equipment conditions, and production capacity requirements. Comparison of Technological Processes Hot […]
Color does not represent good or bad Many customers see Hot melt adhesive granules If it turns yellow, I’m worried about poor quality. In fact, the color mainly comes from the resin grade and whether anti-oxidation and thickening agents are added, and has no direct relationship with whether it is sticky or not. Where does […]
Hot melt adhesive pelletsThe most common work-related injury during homework is not machine injury, butAdhesive burns caused by molten adhesive at 160-180 ℃——Adhesive glue sticking to the skin will not flow away like boiling water and will continue to release heat. The key points of protection can be summarized in one sentence:First isolate the high-temperature […]
