hot melt adhesive advantages
in industrial applications, the adhesive force of hot melt adhesive particles has multiple advantages compared with solvent-based adhesives.

They include:
Reduced or eliminated volatile organic compounds
The drying or curing step has been cancelled
Hot melt adhesive has a long shelf life and can usually be handled without special preventive measures.
Hot melt adhesive does not lose its thickness during the curing process. Solvent-based adhesives may lose up to 50-70% of their layer thickness during the drying process.
Some challenges of hot melt adhesives include:
The thermal load of the substrate, restricting the use of substrates that are not sensitive to higher temperatures
It loses its adhesive strength at higher temperatures until the adhesive is completely melted.
Some hot melt adhesives may not be resistant to chemical erosion and weathering.
However, the above-mentioned challenges can be reduced by using reactive adhesives, which undergo further curing after curing, such as through moisture (for example, reactive polyurethane and silicone), or through ultraviolet radiation curing.
The popular applications of hot melt adhesives include but are not limited to:
Sealing of corrugated boxes and cardboard boxes in the packaging industry
Spine gluing in the binding industry
Profile packaging, product assembly and lamination applications in the woodworking industry
Many electronic device manufacturers may also use hot melt adhesives to fix parts and wires. Or components for fixing, insulating and protecting equipment.
Hot melt packaging had become mainstream in the 1960s. Hot melt adhesive is a commonly used method in the packaging industry. It is usually used for closing cartons, sealing and stabilizing pallets, etc. Overview of Hot Melt Adhesives in Packaging: In the 1960s, hot melt adhesives became common in packaging and processing applications. The main […]

Conclusion first: Factories with large daily shipments and automated production lines have lower comprehensive costs and better anti disassembly properties for sealing boxes with hot melt adhesive particles; For businesses that focus on small batches and manual packaging, adhesive tape is more flexible. The watershed is roughly 500 boxes per day – beyond this amount, […]
