How to avoid equipment failure caused by carbonization of EVA hot melt adhesive? The carbonization of hot melt adhesive in the hot melt tank is left unattended, which can damage your equipment, have a negative impact on your factory’s productivity, and cause unnecessary downtime. Follow these simple tips to reduce hot melt adhesive carbonization and improve operational efficiency.
Maintain appropriate fuel tank level
Ensure that the hot melt filling is always maintained at; 70% Or a higher adhesive capacity level to avoid carbonization of hot melt adhesive. This is because oxygen can cause the formation of charcoal. The lower the level of EVA hot melt adhesive, the more oxygen in the can. In addition, the adhesive residue on the side of the hot-melt coating is likely to form charcoal.
Keep the material in the hot melt canRolling
Ideally, the adhesive should be flipped at least once a day instead of standing still in the can. For this, please ensure that the size of the tank is suitable for the throughput of the production line. This will allow for regular addition of fresh ingredients. If you are unsure of the appropriate size for hot melt filling, please consider:
For most applications, please use smaller melt tanks. This will reduce the length of time the adhesive is not used and decrease hot melt carbonization.
Set appropriateHot melt fillingTemperature
If the temperature of the hot melt tank is set too high, it will increase the possibility of adhesive overheating. This will cause the product to ‘cook’ and form coke inside the can.
Adhere to hot melt pouring protection
Another possible way to form hot melt carbonization is when the can lid is opened for too long. Pollutants may fall into it and cause unsanitary conditions. Ensure that the hot melt tank is properly protected to reduce the formation of charcoal.
Consider line evaluation
In addition to reducing carbon formation, production line evaluation:
Check temperature and pressure settings
Evaluate the performance of the production line and EVA hot melt adhesive
Proactively solving problems to improve the bottom line
EVA polymer hot melt adhesive is solvent-free, anhydrous, and 100% solid meltable. Main ingredients: resin, adhesive, viscosity modifier, antioxidant, etc. Fischer Tropsch wax is used as a viscosity modifier in the production of EVA hot melt adhesive, mainly to reduce the viscosity of the polymer and increase its flowability.
