What is wireless adhesive bonding?
Wireless adhesive binding refers to a binding method that uses adhesive to fix the pages of printed materials on the spine of a book. Unlike traditional wired binding, wireless adhesive binding does not use wire or thread, but instead uses glue to bond the book core. The book core processed by wireless adhesive binding can be used for both flat and hardcover, and is the main binding method for large print books. It is reported that wireless adhesive binding is called perfect binding in foreign countries, which shows how outstanding the advantages of this binding method in production technology are.

Operation method of wireless adhesive binding

Different from horse riding nails, the operation method of wireless adhesive binding requires pre-processing of the inner page and the cover separately, and finally bonding them together through adhesive bonding. The general process flow is as follows: page matching, feeding, milling back, deburring, upper side glue, upper back glue, packaging cover, forming, glue cooling, double coupling, slitting, cutting finished products, stacking polished books, inspecting finished products, and bundling.
Advantages of Wireless Adhesive Binding
The wireless adhesive binding process is simple, the binding operation is fast, and the production efficiency is high.
The printed documents after wireless bonding can be opened and read at 160 degrees. If PUR hot melt adhesive is used, the opening angle can be close to 180 degrees, making it easier to read cross page photos and charts.
The maximum adhesive thickness of wireless adhesive binding for printed products can reach about 7cm, with a high degree of freedom in printing and page matching.
Disadvantages of Wireless Adhesive Binding
If the adhesive quality is poor or the pasting is not good, the page is easily detached after multiple page flips.
When the weather is cold, the texture of the poor adhesive material will become brittle and prone to delamination.
When reading, if heavy pressure is applied to the seams of the wireless adhesive bound product, it may cause cracking or peeling.
Precautions for Wireless Adhesive Binding
After the adhesive dries, the book cannot be opened to the bottom and the 3mm part in the binding area cannot be read. Therefore, when binding, the center of the inner page should be offset by 2-3mm from the binding opening

Wireless adhesive bound books should not use paper with a fixed weight exceeding 157g/㎡, as thick paper may cause delamination and breakage at the spine adhesive.
The thickness of bid binding is usually between 3-30mm. If the book block is too thin, it cannot be used on the binding machine. If the book block is too thick, it can also cause the adhesive to peel off and break when flipping through. Generally speaking, the thinner the paper, the thicker the wireless adhesive binding allows for binding.

For EVA hot melt adhesive used for binding, it can be divided into high-speed adhesive and low-speed adhesive according to different curing times. The curing speed of high-speed adhesive is slightly faster, while the curing speed of low-speed adhesive is slightly slower. According to the material of the book, it is divided into laminated paper […]

Hot melt adhesive particles are a type of thermoplastic adhesive. At room temperature, it is a solid state, but due to the influence of temperature increase, it will flow softly and reach a liquid state at high temperatures. After being applied to the surface of the material, the hot melt adhesive will lose heat and […]
