The correct sequence for carbonization of residual glue in the glue can is:First, cool down to the softening range where the glue can still flow (about 120-140); Drain the remaining adhesive (℃), then use specialized cleaning adhesive or high flash point cleaning agent to circulate and soften the carbon residue, and finally use a copper brush or wooden scraper to remove itAvoid using high-temperature hard shovels, steel wire balls, and ordinary diluents – the former can scratch the coating inside the can, while the latter can contaminate the next batch of glue after residue.

| Steps | Key Operating Points |
|---|---|
| 1. Shutdown and cooling down | Reduced to about 130; ℃, power off and hang out, wear heat-resistant gloves and goggles |
| 2. Drain the remaining adhesive | Open the glue valve and drain it completely. Pour it out while it is flowing to avoid condensation into cakes |
| Add 3 cleaning glue | Inject specialized cleaning glue or high flash point cleaning agent, and heat up for 20-30 cycles; minute |
| 4 Mechanical cleaning | Copper brush and wooden scraper are used to clean along the tank wall, with a focus on the heating plate and dead corners |
| 5. Replace the filter screen | Replace the filter screen and nozzle together or perform ultrasonic cleaning, otherwise the previous work will be in vain |
| 6 Test machine confirmation | Add a small amount of new glue and circulate it to observe if the glue is smooth and if there are any black spots |
Q: There are black spots on the adhesive, but it does not affect the bonding. Can it be postponed until the next maintenance?
Answer: Not recommended. The black dot indicates that the carbon residue is already peeling off, and it is highly likely that the filter screen and nozzle will be blocked in the future. The shutdown loss is much greater than a single cleaning.
Q: Can I clean it with gasoline or thinner?
Answer: No. Low flash point, high safety risk, and residue can lead to foaming and abnormal viscosity in the next batch of adhesive.
Q: Can switching to low ash rubber particles really reduce carbon deposition?
Answer: It can significantly reduce. Rubber particles with low ash content and good thermal stability are less prone to skin formation under long-term insulation, which is also the reason why the thermal stability factor should be considered when selecting materials.

How can EVA hot melt adhesive improve the safety of boxes and cartons? In addition to increasing production line speed to meet greater packaging demands, many box and carton factories hope to improve worker safety. Although this may require ensuring the use of appropriate hot melt adhesive at all times, the correct adhesive can have […]
In the wireless adhesive packaging process of books, the uneven thickness of the adhesive wire is a quality problem frequently encountered by printing factories and graphic and text fast printing factories. One side of the adhesive layer is too thick and overflowing, while the other side is too thin and debonding. This not only makes […]
There are three commonly used testing methods for the peel strength of hot melt adhesive particles:180 ° peel off(Soft substrate to soft substrate, such as laminated paper, non-woven fabric)90 ° peeling(Soft substrate to hard substrate, such as cardboard bonding) andT-shaped peeling(Used when the flexibility of the substrate on both sides is similar). The most commonly […]
