Many graphic and text store owners are afraid of changinghot melt adhesive pellets——Afraid of blocking rubber hoses, afraid of temperature switching problems, and afraid of wasting glue. In fact, as long as you follow the steps, it can be done in 15 minutes without stopping the machine for too long. The following is the standard glue changing process using Sunlife hot melt adhesive granules as an example.

Q: Can different brands of granules be mixed?
A: Not recommended. Mixing hot melt adhesive particles with different formulas may result in compatibility issues such as delamination and decreased adhesion. If a transition is necessary, rinse the hose thoroughly using steps 3-4.
Q: Does the first bound book always not stick firmly after changing the glue?
A: This is a normal phenomenon during the transition period of mixing old and new rubber residues in the hose. Squeezing 50-100g of mixed adhesive waste before starting formal binding can solve the problem.
Q: How often is it appropriate to change the glue?
A: It is recommended to clean the glue pot once a week and replace it with new glue every 1-2 weeks. If the glue is not replaced for a long time, repeated heating of the glue solution will cause severe aging, yellowing, and brittleness.
