Hot melt adhesives are classified by their application purposes as follows:
1. Hot melt adhesive for construction
In the construction industry, hot melt adhesives are mainly used in construction and decoration, such as cork plywood, laminated boards, plastic flooring, wallpaper, insulation, decorative boards and insulation of non-load-bearing components. The use of hot melt adhesives in buildings not only enhances construction quality, increases aesthetics and comfort, but also improves the construction process. At present, the largest hot melt adhesives used in construction mainly include polyvinyl acetate, polyacrylic resin and polyvinyl alcohol.
2. Hot melt adhesive for packaging
Packaging and printing, as the clothing of commodities, have become an important factor influencing the competitiveness of products. People’s demands are getting higher and higher. They require low cost, durability, good looks, to stimulate and attract consumers, and also anti-counterfeiting. Characteristics. Packaging hot melt adhesives are mainly composed of EVA, polyester, polyamide, polyalkylene, styrene block copolymer hot melt adhesives, etc. Among them, EVA hot melt adhesives are the largest. In addition, hot melt adhesives are also used. Pressure-sensitive adhesive.
3. Hot melt Adhesive for shoe-making
Hot melt adhesives have been used in the shoe-making industry for 40 years. The technology is mature, the applications are extensive, and the quantity and variety are constantly increasing. The basic requirements for hot melt adhesives used in shoes are: high initial strength, good durability, short curing time, good flexibility, resistance to bending, heat, oil, water, cold and chemical corrosion. The main types of hot melt adhesives used in shoe-making include ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyester, polyamide, polyethylene and polyurethane hot melt adhesives, among which the first three are used in larger quantities.
4. Textile Hot Melt Adhesive
Adhesives are an important component of textile auxiliaries. The purpose of using adhesives in the textile industry is to enhance the appearance quality and performance. At present, the commonly used hot melt adhesives in textile printing and dyeing include ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyamide, polyurethane, etc., as well as polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene and other hot melt adhesives. It is mainly used for garment bonding (including: inner seams, collars, cuffs, waist of skirts and trousers, core and fabric, zippers, patterns, etc.), carpet backing fabric, fabric flocking, and non-woven fabric manufacturing.
5. Hot melt adhesives for electronic and electrical appliances
The rapid development of the electronics industry has raised many new problems that need to be urgently solved for bonding technology, and has put forward increasingly higher requirements for the electrical insulation, temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and resistance to wet heat aging of adhesives. Hot melt adhesives in the electronics industry feature high softening points, narrow melting ranges, high bonding strength, moderate viscosity, excellent electrical properties, good toughness and flame retardancy. The hot melt adhesives mainly used in the electronics industry are polyester, polyamide and other hot melt adhesives.
6. Automotive hot melt Adhesive
As an adhesive for automobiles, in addition to meeting the usage and service life requirements of automobiles, it must also be applied in such high-flow production processes and must possess appropriate physical and chemical properties as well as good construction performance. Hot melt adhesives have certain advantages in terms of storage stability and transportation safety. It is mainly used for bonding car roofs, interior and exterior car trim parts, etc., with polyester and polyamide hot melt adhesives as the main types.
7. Medical Hot melt Adhesive
Hot melt adhesives used in medical applications are mainly hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesives, which are used to cover wounds, fix detectors, drug delivery carriers, and adhere surgical zippers to the skin. This hot melt adhesive must have good adhesion to all kinds of skin. This glue is easy to remove, leaves no residue, does not harm the skin and does not irritate the skin.
Hot melt adhesive for mattress assembly Hot melt adhesives make the assembly of mattresses faster and easier. Because they are easy to handle, many manufacturers use adhesives to connect the foam around the mattress springs, attach the cushioning foam and insulating materials to the interior of the mattress body, and keep the cushioning and decorative […]
Trends in binding hot melt adhesives and polyolefin adhesives: In recent years, the binding industry has had to adapt to many changes, including increasing production line speed and adopting polyolefin (POE) adhesives. Which products can help you meet the demands brought about by these developments and why? Hot melt adhesive for faster binding line speed […]
The benefits of handbag glue for food packaging: The use of hot melt glue is widely applied in various industries. Food is one of the areas where your application has experienced significant growth. We are now confronted with increasingly demanding consumers who demand elegant and practical packaging, high-end quality processing, and most importantly, respect for […]
The curing speed and aging issues of EVA hot melt adhesive. Hot melt adhesive is a 100% solid adhesive without moisture or solvents. It is solid at room temperature and turns into a fluid and viscous liquid adhesive when heated to a certain extent. The agent, after melting, appears as a light brown semi-transparent substance […]
