lookHot melt adhesive granulesTest report, first capture four numbers:softening pointDetermine whether the finished product is heat-resistant or not, melt viscosity Deciding whether to apply the glue smoothly or not,Opening hoursDeciding whether it fits your machine speed,Ash and moisture contentDeciding whether the machine will be blocked or carbonized. The rest of the projects are auxiliary, and these four do not match. No matter how low the price is, we cannot place an order.

| indicator | Common scope | Look at it to determine what |
|---|---|---|
| Softening point (global method) | 75–105 ℃ | Will the soft rubber of the finished book peel off under high temperature in the car or warehouse |
| Melting viscosity (180 ℃) | 2000–8000 mPa·s | High numerical value with adhesive thickness and poor permeability; Low numerical value, easy to flow and hang wire drawing |
| Opening hours | 3–15 s | Can you complete the pasting and box pressing before clamping |
| curing time | 1–8 s | How long do we have to wait for offline stacking and cutting |
| ash content | ≤0.5% | Impurities can accumulate carbon, clog the filter screen, and wear out the rubber pump |
| moisture | ≤0.1% | Excessive height may cause bubbles, pinholes, and voids in the adhesive layer |
| Thermal stability (180 ℃/48 hours) | No layering or skinning | Will prolonged insulation cause discoloration or carbonization |
The report is a paper commitment, and there are three things that need to be done when it is implemented: first, check whether the batch number accompanying the goods is consistent with the batch number in the report; The second is to do a peeling and hand tearing by yourself, using the paper you actually use and the actual workshop temperature; Thirdly, retain 200; G retention samples can be retested for comparison in case of any issues. Guangzhou Sunlife Trading will include softening point, viscosity, ash content data with the shipment, and explain the testing temperature and substrate used, making it convenient for printing factories to directly archive incoming inspection records.
Q: There is no opening time on the report, can I request retesting?
Answer: Sure. The opening time is strongly related to the process, and regular manufacturers can provide it, or conduct a test according to your workshop temperature.
Q: Is it better to have a higher softening point?
Answer: No. A high softening point means that the operating temperature also needs to be raised, making paper more prone to yellowing and glue more prone to carbonization. Commonly used book and magazine binding 85-95; The temperature range is sufficient.
Q: The report is qualified but the production is still missing pages. What is the problem?
Answer: Most of them are due to mismatched processes – insufficient milling depth, thin glue application, or too short clamping time. Check the process first and then suspect the material.
Sunlife hot melt adhesive provides long-term services for book binding, packaging and sealing, and graphic and text fast printing customers. It can translate report indicators into a set of parameters that can be directly copied into the process card according to your existing machine model, speed, and paper, reducing the waste of repeated machine tests.
Hot melt adhesive is a type of thermoplastic that melts into a solid state by heating and applying temperature. When the adhesive begins to solidify (heat loss) before the material is bonded, cold bonding occurs, which can lead to bonding failure. Usually, it appears to be firmly adhered after bonding, but the bonding strength may […]
Products that have been designed, perfected, manufactured, and inspected to ensure compliance with the highest standards. It’s time for packaging now. The last thing we want is a fragile container that will burst under harsh conditions such as storage, transportation, or shelving. After all, packaging is usually the first impression of a product on potential […]
There is no separate “drop standard” for sealed hot melt adhesive particles, and the industry is concerned about itWhole box drop test——If the sealed cardboard box is dropped according to the national standard/transportation standard and the glue seam does not open, it is qualified. The core reference is GB/T 4857.5 Drop test, as well as […]
What are the ways to change the demand for packaging hot melt adhesive? Decades ago, primary packaging was the main focus of manufacturers, shop owners, and consumers. In most cases, few people handle the goods before they enter the hands of shop owners and consumers. However, once the hypermarkets began to take effect, increasing the […]
