Trends in binding hot melt adhesives and polyolefin adhesives: In recent years, the binding industry has had to adapt to many changes, including increasing production line speed and adopting polyolefin (POE) adhesives. Which products can help you meet the demands brought about by these developments and why?

 Hot Melt Adhesive

Hot melt adhesive for faster binding line speed

High-speed book production, especially when bonding book spines with adhesive at low application temperatures, poses many challenges to adhesives. Hot melt adhesive must provide a strong adhesive force, but it should set fast enough to avoid dirtying the equipment during the finishing process, thereby avoiding the costly production downtime required for cleaning.

Specifically designed for use as low as   140°C  Formulated for application at temperatures, they will operate safely on rapid production lines, bonding up to  ” 10000 & have spent A magazine or book spine.

Why do bindings turn to polyolefins? (POE)   Adhesive

Another trend in binding hot melt adhesives is the increasing use of polyolefin adhesives to replace alternative technologies such as PUR.

and  ” PUR  Unlike adhesives, polyolefin adhesives do not release harmful isocyanate-containing vapors into the workplace, so there is no need for a dedicated emission recovery system or preventive measures. In addition, they offer a faster solidification time, require less cumbersome internal management due to their longer pot life, and do not need to clean the melt tank and applicator (nozzle/roller) after each use.

Compatible with most hot melt equipment and processed in general municipal waste, polyolefin adhesives do not require additional equipment investment or waste disposal procedures.
