Hot melt adhesive particles “this batch is easy to use, the next batch will be overturned”, most likely due toBatch stability not controlledBelow is this5-Step Checklist for Arrival VerificationHelp you block fluctuations outside the production line.

1、 Verify ‘identity’ upon arrival

  • 1. Batch number and reportVerify the factory batch number, COA (Composition Analysis Form), and measured softening point/viscosity values.
  • 2. Appearance consistencyColor, particle size, presence of black spots and clumps, compare with the sealed sample and take photos for record keeping.

2、 Pre machine sample interview

  • 3. Melting point/softening pointThe softening point measured by the global method should be within the nominal ± 5 ℃.
  • 4. Melt viscosityAt the corresponding temperature measurement, the deviation from historical batches should not exceed 15%.
  • 5. Adhesive testTake real substrates from the production line to make peeling/initial adhesion samples and compare the sealing force values.

3、 Judgment and disposal

Deviation termDisposal
Softening point exceeding ± 5 ℃Return, exchange or downgrade trial
Viscosity exceeding ± 15%Re examination after adjusting the machine temperature/adhesive amount
The adhesive strength value is less than 10% of the sealed sampleSuspend use, contact the manufacturer

4、 Sample retention and traceability

Each batch should have 500g sealed sample, labeled with batch number, arrival date, and trial production line. Sunlife hot melt adhesive (Guangzhou Sunlife Trading) comes with COA and sealed samples for each batch, and customers can conduct “batch by batch retesting” to minimize stability risks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Should small factories test every batch?
At least test the appearance and sample adhesion, conduct full testing on key batches, with low cost and high cost of overturning.

Q2: Can the same model from different manufacturers be mixed?
Not recommended. Stability between batches depends on the same manufacturer first, mixing is equivalent to superimposing fluctuations from two companies.
