What are the tips for using packaging hot melt adhesive

2022-05-03    Views: 2

packaging hot melt adhesive is not unfamiliar to packaging. It is not only efficient but also cost-effective. Hot melt adhesive is often used for sealing during the process of carton packaging.

Conventional slotted cartons (RSC) use 1/8-inch rubber beads approximately 1/2 inch away from the edge of the flap to make durable cartons. In this case, a T-shaped nozzle can be used to apply double beads. Using T-shaped nozzles is an effective way to lay double beads and can provide the same result every time. However, if additional strength is required, a standard nozzle can be used and two dispensing points can be placed.

The simple opening technology on RSC: Hot melt adhesive can make cartons easy to open in various ways without losing good sealing performance. These methods can make it easier to reuse cartons. It is usually recommended to use 1/8 dispensing to maintain the strength of the carton. 1/16 dispensing can also be used, but it will reduce the strength of the carton.

Full overlap cartons (FOL) can be achieved by placing 1/8 of the glue on the front and three sides, or by laying double glue. For single-point adhesive applications on FOL cartons, we find L nozzles very convenient. If both sides need to be glued, it is relatively simple to use a T-shaped nozzle.

Hot-melt dispensing to save costs can be achieved by upgrading batch dispensing to include hot-melt dispensing and sewing systems, which can save a significant amount of money. Traditional hot melt adhesives seal packaging with solid line dispensing, but this innovative process can use a series of dot and line dispensing, usually using 50% less glue.
