The surface of velvet (corduroy, velvet, short hair velvet, etc.) is covered with fine fluff, hot melt adhesive pelletsAfter coating, it is easy to penetrate into the gaps of the fluff instead of sticking to the base fabric, resulting in low initial adhesion and easy detachment upon light pulling. In addition, velvet fabrics are mostly made of polyester or blended fabrics, with low surface energy. The general EVA rubber particles have insufficient wettability, and the bonding effect is often not ideal.

The key lies in two points: ① Good fluidity of the adhesive solution, which can penetrate through the fluff layer and infiltrate the base fabric; ② The adhesion to polyester/blended fabric should be high. It is recommended to use low viscosity modified EVA or PO based hot melt adhesive particles, with a coating temperature of 170-180 ° C and an opening time of 3-5 seconds, allowing time for the adhesive to penetrate the fluff layer and reach the base fabric. Sunlife hot melt adhesive has a special model for velvet, which has been tested by multiple gift packaging factories and has a peel strength of over 3.5N/cm. It can be repeatedly bent without shedding velvet.
Bookbinding adhesive is a flexible and durable hot melt adhesive used in bookbinding. This combination creates a book that can withstand bending and folding without spine cracking or page pulling. Hot melt adhesive for books and periodicals is divided into book edge adhesive and book back adhesive according to their uses. EVA hot melt adhesive […]
The aging of hot melt adhesive is mainly manifested in two aspects: appearance and performance. Visually, the color of hot melt adhesive may become dull, and even yellow or brown tones may appear. The texture may become hard and brittle, losing its original flexibility, and the surface may have cracks or fissures. In terms of […]
hot melt adhesiveWhen the glue pot has burnt particles, uneven glue dispensing, or impurities in the glue line, simply replacing the glue may not solve the problem. This article sorts out the troubleshooting sequence according to “glue pot status, temperature setting, shutdown habits, and glue supply path” to help reduce downtime and material waste in […]
