There are two technical routes for bonding hardcover book covers:hot melt adhesive pelletsHot melt glue and cold glue (white latex/PVA) pasting. Both options have their own strengths, and which one to choose depends on your product positioning, equipment conditions, and production capacity requirements.
Hot melt adhesive granule schemeHeating the glue pot → Applying glue on the glue roller → Bonding the cardboard and cover → Pressing → Cooling and curing (the entire process takes 15-25 seconds)
Cold glue pasting scheme: Glue application → manual or mechanical brushing → bonding → pressing → natural air drying or drying (the whole process takes 3-30 minutes)
Q: Can the two schemes be mixed?
A: Okay. Some factories use cold glue to paste book covers and hot melt glue to pack book spines, each taking their own strengths.
Q: Will there be glue line marks on the hot melt adhesive particles sticking to the hardcover cover?
