What are the common applications of EVA hot melt adhesive?

EVA hot melt adhesive is cheap and widely used in the industrial industry – but which commercial products are commonly made with hot melt adhesive? The following are the six most common applications in the manufacturing industry:

EVA hot melt adhesive

1)  Quick assembly, recyclable cardboard box

The transportation packaging industry is a major user of EVA hot melt adhesive seam sealing. Packaging factories and manufacturers use it to form strong bonds on the edges of boxes, envelopes, top seals, lid fillers, and product containers inside the boxes.

2)  Binding and printing books and magazines

How can pages in modern publications be fixed in place without traditional lock threads? Due to the use of book specific EVA hot melt adhesive, fully printed books can be quickly and inexpensively bound, and bound in a time tested manner – all without damaging the pages.

3)  Paste product labels and covers

Sometimes, manufacturers need to attach pre printed external labels to their packaging boxes or products themselves. For certain products, such as bottles and cans, it is almost impossible to print directly on the surface. Hot melt adhesive can stick strong adhesive labels to almost any substrate and surface shape.

4)  Making hygienic disposable medical supplies

Manufacturers of bandages, sanitary tampons, and medical pads often use hot melt adhesive to create safe, sterile, and biodegradable seals. Accurate hot melt connections have helped biomedical experts create seamless, metal free absorbent disposable products that remain sterile, hygienic, and safe for use on human skin.

5) Bonding non-conductive electrons inside

A serious issue with sealed electronic products is that plastic molded parts and metal need to be assembled together without the risk of conductive bridging or component disintegration. Although screws can bridge gaps, hot melt adhesive can also be helpful. Melted contact seals are used around finer circuit boards and machine cladding to create layered “layers” to save space and ensure building strength.

6)  Lock wooden products together

For wooden products, screws and locking joints are not the only options on the market. Special grade melted hot melt adhesive can form durable and long-lasting bonds, sealing parts together or reinforcing existing carpenters, giving finished wooden pieces greater integrity.
