What ishot melt adhesive
Hot melt adhesive or hot glue is composed of thermoplastic polymers that are applied in liquid form when melted, but become solid again when cooled. Hot glue is used in commercial and residential areas. It is used for various paper products, handicrafts, hobbies, woodworking, assembly, packaging, labels, etc.

The benefits of hot melt adhesive:

cost-effectiveness
Easy to use
Formulas made for various applications/materials
easy to store
Excellent sealing quality
Different types of hot melt adhesive

EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a polymer suitable for packaging and assembling formulations. It is economically effective at the operating temperature of standard hot melt adhesives ranging from -22 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to 80 degrees Celsius). EVA is the most common type of hot melt adhesive used for applications such as packaging and product assembly.

PA (polyamide) is a polymer used in the formulation of adhesives to better resist extreme temperatures and chemicals -76 to 266 degrees Fahrenheit (-60 to 130 degrees Celsius).

Compared to traditional EVA products, polyamide is an expensive product with higher heat resistance.

PP (polypropylene) is a polymer commonly used in spray formulations to produce specific adhesive properties, such as delayed setting time, and is effective at -22 to 230 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to 110 degrees Celsius).

PUR (Polyurethane) is similar to traditional hot melt adhesives, but the difference is that after curing, PUR absorbs a small amount of moisture. After a few days, the intake of water will cause permanent chemical changes. This chemical change increases the heat and chemical resistance of this adhesive. Chemical reactions allow PUR to form structural bonds similar to epoxy resin, but in a shorter time. PUR is highly suitable for various applications, but is typically used for woodworking.

Terminology related to hot melt:
Opening hours – refers to the time period that can be used to establish bonds.
Viscosity – is a measure of liquid resistance. One of the most important qualities of hot melt adhesive is that it affects the diffusion of the adhesive.
Heat resistance – the temperature at which hot melt adhesive maintains its physical appearance.
