Hot melt adhesive is a type of plastic polymer adhesive. Within a certain temperature range, its physical state will change with the temperature. EVA hot melt adhesive is an environmentally friendly chemical product. Sometimes, when using hot melt adhesive, there may be wire drawing after melting. Affects work efficiency and product aesthetics. So, what is the reason for drawing after melting hot melt adhesive? This is mainly caused by the following factors.

1、 Cohesive strength of hot melt adhesive
The basic cohesion and drawing effect of hot melt adhesive are: high cohesion, obvious drawing phenomenon; On the contrary, if the cohesive strength is low, there will be no wire drawing phenomenon.
2、 Curing time of hot melt adhesive
The curing time of hot melt adhesive is crucial for the occurrence of wire drawing. Generally speaking, hot melt adhesives with short curing times have lower drawing rates because the long filaments formed after curing cannot continue to stretch and are prone to breakage, sometimes even unable to be pulled out.
3、 Rheological properties of hot melt adhesive
The rheological properties of hot melt adhesive have a decisive impact on wire drawing, which is related to the design of the hot melt adhesive formula, the selection of materials in the formula, and the composition.
4、 The influence of machine temperature
If the temperature is too low, the thinness of the glue itself will increase, leading to wire drawing phenomenon.
The above are several reasons for the wire drawing phenomenon of EVA hot melt adhesive. If the above phenomenon occurs during operation, it must be dealt with in a timely manner.
There are many types of adhesives, including hot melt adhesive, water-based adhesive, oil-based adhesive, etc. Different adhesive curing methods, speeds, times, and forms vary. What is the difference between hot melt adhesive and water-based adhesive for cardboard packaging? 1. Hot melt adhesive for cardboard packaging Firstly, let’s talk about hot melt adhesive. Hot melt adhesive […]
In Europe and America, Glue is commonly used as a synonym for Adhesive. Natural adhesives are commonly referred to as Glue, which is equivalent to “glue” in Chinese. It is a traditional idiom, such as Animal Glue for animal glue and Vegetable Glue for plant glue. After the 20th century, with the use and development […]
In the production process of books and periodicals, the binding strength is an important factor determining their durability and user experience. If a book is not firmly bound, there may be phenomena such as page dropping and glue peeling during the reading process, which seriously affects the reader’s reading experience. Therefore, conducting a book binding […]
In book binding with copperplate paper as the inner page, due to the thin film covering the surface of copperplate paper, there is a high demand for the adhesive used. It is difficult for people to bind books and periodicals with white glue in order to make them more firmly attached to copperplate paper. After […]
