The odor mainly comes from two aspects: one is that there are too many low molecular weight volatile compounds in the raw materials, and the other is that there are too many recycled materials mixed in. Pure new material and clean formula particles only have a very light wax smell when melted; If it is pungent, sour or even spicy to the eyes, it is mostly due to inferior materials or mixed with recycled materials. Answer: No. After the adhesive layer cools, the odor is basically sealed inside the adhesive, and readers cannot smell it after the book is completed, which meets the odor requirements of publications.
Q: Does a strong odor indicate toxicity?
Answer: It is not necessarily toxic, but a pungent smell usually means that there are many volatile substances, the formula is not clean, and long-term inhalation is not conducive to health. It is recommended to replace with qualified products.
Q: How to determine if the purchased hot melt adhesive particles have a qualified odor?
Answer: Take a small amount and melt it at around 180 ℃. Close it up and smell it lightly. A light wax smell is normal; If it is obviously pungent or irritating, it should be returned.
